De' fliengde Vuogtlänn'r

Observations, rants, etc. from a guy who really gets around.

Hey, Professor...!

"Just sit right back and you'll read a tale,
a tale of a fateful trip
That started from Denver airport
aboard a great airship.
The mate was a mighty flyin' man;
the pilot brave and sure.
Those passengers embarked that day
for a three-hour tour.
A three-hour tour..."

Oh, c'mon... You can't tell me that theme song wasn't running thru your head when you read that article. Especially when it got to the part about a three-hour flight turning into a 15-hour nightmare.

Of course, the only question in my mind was whether or not Mary Ann was on board. Forget Ginger; it was always Mary Ann.

Yep! I heard about that and I think I would have been madder than a wet hen. The mid rockies have been really hit hard this winter, yesterday it was -1 in Denver. I'm glad that I don't live up there.....

We have a young couple in our ward that got caught in a snow storm in New Mexico on the way home from Christmas in Utah. They were on a road about 30 miles from the nearest city when a couple of 18 wheelers jack-knifed and cut off the road. They were stuck on the cold and snowing highway. They sat in their car for three hours before they were rescued by state troopers and were taken to a fire station that had been made into a shelter. She is five months pregeant and they both slept on cots next to the fire truck for two days. They felt very lucky that they were rescued and had a place to sleep and shelter. This is when you are glad that you live in Houston.
